นักพากย์アニメ 盗掘王 ร่วมงาน World Premiere Cast Talk เมื่อวันที่ 13 มิถุนายน

The TV anime 盗掘王 (Tōkutsu-Ō) — a story of relics, supernatural powers, and the dramatic reversal of fortune of protagonist Gōriki Ryōga — is set to begin broadcasting on Fuji TV’s “B8station” and other channels from July 8, 2026.

On June 13, ahead of the broadcast, the production held a “Cast Talk World Premiere” screening of Episodes 1 and 2, available both in-person and online. Following the screening, four lead voice actors took the stage for a lively discussion.

Cast on Stage

  • Hosoya Yoshimasa as Gōriki Ryōga (protagonist)
  • Suwabe Junichi as Ōkawara Yasumasa
  • Okamoto Nobuhiko as Kureha Noboru
  • Hayami Saori as Irene Holton

A Unique Recording Experience

Hosoya revealed that the recording process was unusually polished from the start — the animation was fully completed and the soundtrack was already in place when they recorded their lines, making it feel “fresh compared to a normal dubbing session.” He also noted that Ryōga carries an exceptional amount of dialogue and internal monologue, especially early in the story. “I’ve never done an anime where the protagonist explains everything,” he said. “Recording the monologues and dialogue back-to-back was really tough.”

Suwabe on Playing a True Villain

Suwabe Junichi, who voices Ōkawara Yasumasa — Ryōga’s employer who once drove him to the brink of death — drew laughs from the audience when he declared: “In many past roles where I’ve opposed the protagonist, I’ve always said, ‘He’s only an enemy from the hero’s perspective — he’s not truly evil.’ But Ōkawara in this show? He is a villain.” He added that he deliberately performed the role to make viewers dislike the character as much as possible.

Okamoto on Kureha Noboru, the Audience’s Surrogate

Okamoto Nobuhiko admitted he initially expected “Kureha Noboru” to be a powerful character based on the name alone, only to be surprised when Ryōga flipped the power dynamic. He described Kureha as the series’ comic relief and emotional anchor — a character whose feelings shift alongside the viewer’s — and said he focused on conveying that relatability in his performance.

Hayami on the Mysterious Irene Holton

With Irene Holton still shrouded in mystery through Episodes 1 and 2, Hayami Saori teased: “She’s surprisingly charming and easy to talk to — so the gap between that impression and what lies beneath is one of the fun things about the early episodes.” She also hinted at a scene where Irene “awakens to a whole other level beyond her charming exterior.”

The “Tōkutsu Question!” Game Corner

The event’s variety segment had the cast answering themed questions. For “What ability would you want?”, Hosoya chose “the power to see the future,” Hayami said “I want to float,” and Suwabe picked “being able to play every role I want” — earning nods from his fellow cast members. Okamoto’s earnest answer — “the ability to make people burst out laughing at moments like this” — ended up doing exactly that.

For “What item in your home is your ‘relic’?”, Okamoto brought up “a crystal I bought to stop mysterious knocking sounds in my apartment,” Hayami mentioned “a piece of jewelry from my grandmother that I still haven’t been able to use (because it’s all tangled up),” Suwabe revealed “a Gariga◯-kun ice bar I’ve been keeping for ten years,” and Hosoya talked about his “left-handed scissors,” spinning it into a relatable story about the struggles of being left-handed.

New Visual, PV, and Closing Messages

The event also saw the unveiling of the main visual and second promotional video, along with announcements of additional cast members and theme song information. The cast got a laugh when they noticed Kureha Noboru was absent from the main visual — prompting Okamoto to smile and say, “I’m really hoping Noboru can make it onto a key visual someday (laughs).”

Okamoto praised Hosoya’s performance for driving the series’ tempo and the intensity of its battle scenes. Suwabe likewise lauded Hosoya before reiterating, “Ōkawara Yasumasa is a bad guy.” Hayami encouraged viewers to let Ryōga’s relentless drive wash away their everyday frustrations, and promised that “Irene will have her own cathartic moment down the line.”

Hosoya closed the event by saying, “I think this is a type of work you don’t come across very often. The way the protagonist crushes his opponents with interest — it’s crafted in a way that’s really satisfying,” raising anticipation for the series’ July premiere even further.
