Keiko Okamoto, the manga artist known for her work on Corrector Yui, has passed away. The news was announced via Okamoto’s official X/Twitter account as well as the X/Twitter account of the manga magazine Comic Maomao.
Okamoto had only recently begun serializing a new manga titled Ochikobore Hoketsu Reijō wa Tsumetai Kōshaku kara Nigedashitai (The Dropout Substitute Daughter Wants to Run Away From the Cold Duke) in Comic Maomao, with the series launching in March.
Her Work on Corrector Yui
Okamoto was one of two manga artists who worked on Corrector Yui; the other manga adaptation was drawn by series creator Kia Asamiya. Okamoto’s version of the manga was released in English by Tokyopop. Both manga were based on the Corrector Yui anime, which first aired in April 1999.
