The official website for the new anime short “Narumi’s Week at Work” (Narumi no Heijitsu), based on Naoya Matsumoto‘s Kaiju No. 8 manga, has begun streaming a trailer confirming the series will run for four episodes. The first episode premieres on September 5, with new episodes dropping every Saturday at 8:00 p.m. JST on the TOHO animation YouTube channel. The final episode will stream on September 26. Crunchyroll will simulcast all episodes as they air.

The staff also unveiled a birthday visual for series protagonist Kafka Hibino alongside the trailer announcement.

Story

Gen Narumi, captain of the Defense Force’s First Division and widely regarded as “Japan’s Strongest Anti-Kaiju Combatant,” is a man whose overwhelming power comes with an equally overwhelming ego. He skips meetings without a second thought, deftly dodges office paperwork, and spends his downtime grinding online games — yet even the strongest man alive occasionally finds himself on the receiving end of an unexpected counterattack. This is the story of the most powerful man’s decidedly un-peaceful week at work.
