The TV anime Magic Knight Rayearth (魔法騎士レイアース), based on CLAMP’s beloved manga, has released its second main promotional video. The clip was unveiled during a stage event held at Kyomaf (Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2026) in Kyoto on September 20.

The new PV showcases the Magic Knights in fierce battle against powerful enemies, giving fans a closer look at the series’ stunning visuals and action sequences. Appearing at the stage event were Sakura Ayane (Hikaru Shidou), Okubo Rumi (Umi Ryuuzaki), Takahashi Rie (Fuu Hououji), and Kaji Yuki (Clef).

New Villain Cast Announced

Four additional cast members were revealed, voicing the antagonists who stand in the Magic Knights’ way:

• Noto Mamiko as Alcyone
• Murase Ayumu as Ascot
• Ueda Hitomi as Caldina
• Yasumoto Hiroki as Lafarga

Theme Songs Confirmed

The opening theme is 「乙女の剣」(Otome no Ken) performed by Toaka, while the ending theme is 「星灯」(Hoshi Akari) performed by Kawaguchi Yurina.

Noto Mamiko (Alcyone)

It is a great honor to be part of this production. Alcyone’s desperate longing for love is both endearing and heartbreaking, yet it is beautifully enveloped by the stunning visuals. Some of the sad, poignant scenes were so captivating I found myself completely drawn in. I am eagerly looking forward to seeing how everything comes together in the finished broadcast.

Murase Ayumu (Ascot)

I first learned about this series from classmates at my voice acting school who would sing the theme song at karaoke. When I read the original manga ahead of my audition, I felt a beauty and brilliance that never fades no matter the era. I am so happy to be part of such a masterpiece.

Ueda Hitomi (Caldina)

I grew up watching and reading CLAMP’s works, and I can hardly believe I get to appear in the Reiwa-era Magic Knight Rayearth as Caldina. I balanced my joy with a deep sense of responsibility toward a work that lives in so many people’s hearts, and I gave everything I had to the role.

Yasumoto Hiroki (Lafarga)

This is an anime that aired in Monday prime time — a powerful work. Nostalgia wells up, but even more than that, I feel joy and a sense of mission. Because this is a series that so many people love deeply, I want to give everything I can to do it justice.

Toaka (Opening Theme「乙女の剣」)

I poured the heroines’ pure, unwavering feelings into “Otome no Ken.” They suddenly find themselves carrying the fate of the world, yet they keep their heads up and never stop facing what lies ahead. I wanted to deliver that fierce determination through my voice, and I hope my music can be something that supports and encourages them in return.

Kawaguchi Yurina (Ending Theme「星灯」)

As a fan of the original work, my heart races knowing that a new door is opening for this long-beloved series. I feel it holds both a sunlit warmth and a deep-sea gravity — grand yet delicate. I sang “Hoshi Akari” with those feelings close to my heart, and I hope listeners can savor the lingering emotion of each episode alongside this song.

Broadcast and Streaming Information

The TV anime Magic Knight Rayearth will air for two consecutive cours beginning October 7, 2026 on TV Asahi’s nationwide network in the IMAnimation W slot, every Wednesday at 23:45. Streaming will follow on multiple platforms including AnimeFesta, ABEMA, Hulu, U-NEXT, Prime Video, and more after the TV broadcast.
