NHK Etele’s voice-acting talk show Bistro Voice, hosted by Yamadera Koichi, will welcome two celebrated guest stars for its 23rd episode: Inoue Kazuhiko and Mitsuishi Kotono. The episode is set to air on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 21:00 to 21:29 JST.
Bistro Voice brings together leading voice-acting specialists to demonstrate their craft and discuss the essence of vocal performance in an intimate, candid setting.
Inoue Kazuhiko: From Hero Roles to a Pivotal Challenge
Inoue Kazuhiko, widely known for voicing Hatake Kakashi in NARUTO and both Nyanko-sensei and Madara in Natsume’s Book of Friends, will open up about the works that marked turning points in his career. He reveals that his twenties were dominated by heroic leading roles — and explains why he struggled when cast as Yamaoka Shiro in the long-running gourmet drama Oishinbo, a character that demanded something very different from him.
Mitsuishi Kotono: Sailor Moon and the Wall of Evangelion
Mitsuishi Kotono will share behind-the-scenes stories from her time voicing Tsukino Usagi in Sailor Moon, a role she describes as one that “still has a profound influence on me to this day.” She will also open up about the difficulties she encountered while working on Neon Genesis Evangelion, in which she co-starred alongside Yamadera Koichi.
The Secret Behind Their Vocal Allure
Voice trainer Nagatsuka Mitsuru joins the conversation to conduct an in-depth analysis of the particular charm and sensuality that both Inoue and Mitsuishi bring to their voices, breaking down exactly where that quality comes from.
The three veterans — who have collectively spent decades at the top of their field — also engage in a deep-dive discussion on the craft, touching on insights such as “the spine is the most important thing,” “catching the rising energy,” and “the voice that comes to you on its own.”
