Story & Highlights
Mari has never interacted with jujin before, but when the gentle and pure-hearted Tsunagu joins her class under a special exemption, the two slowly grow closer. Tsunagu, for his part, finds himself drawn to the “sweet scent” Mari gives off. In a world where jujin are separated from humans by a wall, even a simple friendship between the two species draws suspicious stares.
Key Highlights
- Cross-species romance: Tsunagu crossing the wall every day to attend school, and Mari fighting for his acceptance among classmates, forms the emotional core of the series.
- Memorable supporting cast: Including basketball club member Aida Yukihiro and Kisara, a cat-type jujin and childhood friend of Tsunagu, each with their own growth arcs.
- Top-tier voice cast and music: Mari is voiced by Iwami Manaka and Tsunagu by Eguchi Takuya. The OP theme is “Kusuguttai.” by CHiCO with HoneyWorks, and the ED is “Kimi ni Naretara” by Kamiyama Yoh.
