TV anime Detective Conan (名探偵コナン) is set to mark its 30th anniversary in 2026, and the celebrations are already in full swing with a string of special announcements.

30th Anniversary Stage at Kyomaf 2026

On September 19, the Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (Kyomaf) 2026 hosted the TV Anime “Detective Conan” 30th Anniversary Stage: ~Thrilling! The Crimson Curtain Rises!~, featuring voice actors Horigawa Ryō (Hattori Heiji) and Miyamura Yuko (Toyama Kazuha). The pair appeared in traditional kimono to thunderous applause. Miyamura wore a yellow kimono with her hair in a ponytail — a nod to her character Kazuha — delighting the crowd.

The event served as the third installment in a series of six consecutive weekly announcements, delivered simultaneously to the live audience and viewers watching on the official Detective Conan YouTube channel.

Main Trailer for “Case No. 30” Revealed

The first major reveal was the main trailer for the two-hour special Detective Conan: Case No. 30 (名探偵コナン 30号殺人事件), set to air on Friday Road Show on September 25 — the first two-hour special in a decade. The trailer showcases an all-star cast joining Conan Edogawa as he pursues two intertwined mysteries: a new-banknote counterfeiting scheme and a murder case.

Special PV “Two Hearts” and the “Akaneiro no Senshūraku” Arc

Also unveiled was a special PV titled “二人の恋” (Two Hearts) for Detective Conan: Akaneiro no Senshūraku, tracing the romantic journey of Hattori Heiji and Toyama Kazuha ahead of the arc’s three-week broadcast run beginning September 26. The arc is adapted from volume 106 of the original manga and is set in Osaka.

When the PV — which includes footage from the actual episodes — was screened, Miyamura exclaimed, “I’m seeing this trailer for the very first time!” Horigawa responded with quiet emotion: “My heart is burning. I’m overwhelmed with feeling.”

Heartfelt Tribute to Yamazaki Wakana

Asked about memories from recording “Akaneiro no Senshūraku,” Miyamura offered a moving tribute:

“I was so happy to feel the love from the staff and fans who had been waiting for this. More than anyone, I wanted Yamazaki Wakana to see this moment. Okamura Akemi took on the role of Ran with such incredible resolve, and she told me, ‘Every time I record, I feel like Wakana is always watching over me.’ I felt the same way during our recording sessions — like Wakana-san was watching over us.”

Horigawa simply added, “She’s there,” echoing the same sentiment toward the late Yamazaki Wakana, who had previously voiced Toyama Kazuha.

New Mai Kuraki Theme Song and Broadcast Schedule

The stage also announced that Mai Kuraki (倉木麻衣) will contribute a new song, «愛で全部抱きしめて愛して», as the new ending theme for “Akaneiro no Senshūraku” from September 26. Kuraki is also providing «ハレルヤ» (Hallelujah) as the theme for “Case No. 30” — making this her 30th song for the franchise, a remarkable coincidence with the series’ 30th anniversary year.

Miyamura read aloud a message from Kuraki to the audience:

“As one of the messages expressed in the world of Detective Conan — if we are born into this world and there is an end, I hope we can realize that ‘everything is love,’ give thanks for the miracle of being alive, and try to embrace everything… I created this song with gratitude and love for this momentous 30th anniversary.”

It was also announced that a special bridging segment will air within “Case No. 30” connecting directly to the “Akaneiro no Senshūraku” episodes beginning the following day.

Live Dubbing and Fan Q&A

The stage also featured a live dubbing segment revisiting key scenes between Heiji and Kazuha. Horigawa performed entirely from memory without a script, drawing amazed reactions from online viewers. In the fan Q&A, Horigawa described Heiji’s appeal as “his straightforwardness, single-mindedness, passion, and strong sense of justice — those are Heiji-kun’s greatest charms!” Miyamura said of Kazuha: “She always watches over Heiji-kun as he throws himself into cases. I think she’s such a good girl.”

Special Audio Track for “Case No. 30”

A secondary audio commentary track (副音声) for “Case No. 30” was also confirmed, featuring six participants:
