Story

Set against the backdrop of Japan’s late-1950s to early-1960s economic boom, the series takes place in an era when the circus reigns as one of the country’s most beloved forms of entertainment. Rival troupes crisscross the nation, competing for a coveted spot at the prestigious international event known as the “Circus Collection.”

Among them is the Sunflower Circus, led by ringmaster Maria. Despite chronic financial hardship, the troupe presses on — until a fateful encounter with Mizuka Tsurumaki, a prodigious young circus performer, changes everything. The series follows these young women and their outsized dreams as they chase glory one performance at a time.

In the Japanese cast, Tomoka Noda voices Mizuka Tsurumaki and Shiori Kurosaki plays Ōka Kawasumi.
