Tokyo-based AI animation company Puri Prince has announced Dennō Isu Tantei Charlotte ~Dead Man’s Hand~ (Cyber-Chair Detective Charlotte: Dead Man’s Hand), the second installment of its ongoing anime project. The short anime series is adapted from noriyang‘s web novel of the same name, and the announcement also came with a reveal of the series’ cast members.
Story and Concept
Puri Prince describes the project as a “story of records” co-created by AI and humans. Set in a near-future society where every event is digitally recorded, the story follows young detective Charlotte — who solves difficult cases without ever leaving her chair — and her AI partner W.A.T.S.O.N. Together, they investigate the mysterious game records of a cyber casino, where the name of the winner has inexplicably vanished from the logs.
According to Puri Prince, the series’ narrative unfolds primarily across social media, placing viewers in the unique role of an “observer” with a distinctive perspective on the story’s world.
Cast
The voice cast for the anime has been revealed, though the romanizations of some character names have not yet been officially confirmed.
Other Puri Prince Projects
Puri Prince is also in development on a full-length feature anime based on Yuzuru Kobayashi‘s story “Akumu no Fuchi kara” (From the Abyss of Nightmare), the grand prize winner of the 2024 Prince JAM! pitch contest for AI x Web3 animation.
Earlier in 2025, creative company Creek & River announced that its subsidiary C&R Creative Studios had established a dedicated anime team and would begin collaborating with Puri Prince to produce anime content for other companies and organizations.
