The TV anime Tenmaku no Jādūgal has released its Mongolia Arc opening PV, alongside the announcement of three new cast members: Kuno Misaki as Sorqoqtani, Asai Ayaka as Möge, and Shintani Mayumi as Kirghiztani. Comments from all three voice actresses have also been published.
Mongolia Arc PV
The new PV follows protagonist Sitara as she travels from Persia to Mongolia, offering a glimpse of the scheming and power struggles brewing within the empire. Viewers are introduced to Sorqoqtani, the wise and composed principal wife of fourth prince Tolui; Möge, the fourth consort of Mongol Emperor Ögedei; and Kirghiztani, Ögedei’s third consort. The PV also features Boraqchin, a figure of calm dignity who secretly devises plans out of concern for the empire’s future and its imbalance of power.
About the Series
Tenmaku no Jādūgal is set in 13th-century Mongolia and follows Sitara, a clever young woman taken prisoner by the Mongol Empire, who uses her intellect to infiltrate the imperial harem and work to bring the empire down from within. The series is based on the manga by Tomato Soup, serialised in Akita Shoten’s Souffle. Animation is produced by Science SARU, with the series currently airing on TV Asahi’s national network and BS Asahi.

Kuno Misaki (Sorqoqtani)
This is the first time in my voice acting career that I’ve played a character who has a husband and children. I was truly, truly happy about it. Playing a role that matches my own age has always been a dream of mine, so I’m filled with gratitude for the production team who entrusted me with Sorqoqtani. The recording sessions were guided with great care, and every session was a continuous stream of discoveries, reflection, and challenges — my heart danced with joy each time. Please look forward to seeing how Sorqoqtani, living gracefully and true to her beliefs as Tolui’s beloved wife and a mother, will come to interact with Sitara.
Asai Ayaka (Möge)
When I read the original manga, I was immediately drawn in by the contrast between Tomato Soup-sensei’s soft, gentle artwork and the tense atmosphere that permeates the story. Every character is depicted with such care as they each struggle to live according to their own circumstances and feelings — I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Möge is one of those characters living her own way within that world. I put great care into capturing the unique atmosphere of the work and Möge’s charm during recording. I hope everyone enjoys the broadcast.
Shintani Mayumi (Kirghiztani)
This is the story of women who lived in the shadow of a history carved out by men. I found myself equally moved by the gentle solidarity that brought me to tears and the brutal betrayals that sent chills down my spine — perhaps because, no matter how cleverly these women scheme, what ultimately drives them is pure love and passion. Kirghiztani seems to navigate things well enough on the surface, but by modern standards her circumstances are quite harsh. Being able to portray a woman who lived tenaciously despite being swept along by the times and customs of her era — through this work — was an incredibly exciting experience. The set was so much fun! Please look forward to it.
