Yamasato Ryota of comedy duo Nankai Candies — best known as the MC of the lifestyle variety show Doyou wa Nani Suru!? — has been cast in the anime Pan no Akachan, which airs as a segment within that same programme. He will voice an owl character starting from episode 12, broadcasting on September 19.
About Pan no Akachan
Pan no Akachan follows the grand adventures of bread dough babies — tiny living lumps of dough on a journey through the world. The series originated as an original short CG animation released on YouTube and social media by CHOCOLATE Inc. in December 2024, before being adapted into a regularly broadcast TV series.
The owl Yamasato portrays is a gentlemanly figure who warmly watches over the bread babies. The character is set to appear in the anime on an irregular basis going forward.

Although Yamasato has voice-acting experience, he expressed particular confidence in this role, saying: “I’ve finally found a role where I feel, ‘This is my voice!'” He also encouraged viewers to pay attention to his emotional delivery: “I put feeling into every single line, so I’m sure it will come through.”
