The staff behind the television anime adaptation of Metabo Hagure’s light novel series A Livid Lady’s Guide to Getting Even: How I Crushed My Homeland with My Mighty Grimoires (Buchigire Reijō wa Hōfuku wo Chikaimashita. Madōsho no Chikara de Sokoku wo Tataki Tsubushimasu) announced two additional cast members on Friday.

Joining the production are Asami Seto as Roselia Fadogal and Kenji Akabane as Robert Ati (name romanizations unconfirmed).

Staff

Naoyuki Kuzuya (Sweet Reincarnation, Saiyuki Gaiden, Wild Adapter) is directing the anime at Studio Comet. Mitsutaka Hirota (Sweet Reincarnation, Rent-A-Girlfriend) is handling series composition, while Sayaka Anezaki (Possibly the Greatest Alchemist of All Time, Tohai: Ura Rate Mahjong Tohai Roku) is designing the characters. Music is composed by Satoshi Hōno (Tales of Wedding Rings, Twilight Out of Focus) and Karin Nakano (The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom, Clockwork Planet).

Global Licensing & Anime Expo Preview

REMOW has confirmed it will handle global licensing rights for the anime. The company will screen the first half of episode one at its industry panel at Anime Expo on July 4 at 12:00 p.m. PDT.

Story

Elizabeth Leiston, daughter of the kingdom’s influential prime minister, is on track to become the future queen of the Kingdom of Haldoria — until her fiancé publicly breaks off their engagement, has her thrown in jail, and begins spreading malicious rumors about her. Fueled by the encouragement of her loyal maid Mireille and a burning desire for revenge, Elizabeth resolves to stop serving a country that never respected her and instead bring it to its knees. Armed with seven powerful magic grimoires, she sets out to settle every score and topple the kingdom itself.

Source Material

The original web novel launched on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in October 2020, with its last update in September 2022. The light novel series, illustrated by masami, began in May 2022; the seventh volume shipped on August 19. Oonoimo’s manga adaptation launched on Comic Fire in May 2022, with the 10th compiled volume released in Japan on March 2. J-Novel Club holds the English-language license for both the light novel and manga.
