Streaming platform HIDIVE has announced that it will stream the TV anime adaptation of The World Is Dancing, based on the manga by Kazuto Mihara, during the summer 2026 season. The platform has also released an English-subtitled trailer and an official promotional visual.
Synopsis
The story begins in 1374, amid the long-running conflict between the Northern and Southern Courts. A boy named Oniyasha is born into a family of sarugaku performers. He lives with silence and a question that has always stayed with him: “Why do people dance?” One day, he witnesses a dance that he truly feels is “beautiful,” and that moment begins to change everything. The anime tells the life of a beautiful young boy who will later lay the foundation for the art of Noh and be remembered as Zeami.

About the Original Manga
Kazuto Mihara began serializing The World Is Dancing in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in March 2021, and the series ended in October 2022 with a total of six volumes. Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed and released all six volumes digitally.
