About the Franchise

Coharu Sakuraba launched the Minami-ke manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in 2004, and the series remains ongoing. The 29th compiled volume was released on Friday.

The manga previously inspired four television anime series — in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2013 — along with three OVAs in 2009, 2012, and 2013. Minami-ke: Korekara will be the fifth TV anime in the franchise and its first new television series in over 14 years.

The new anime was first announced at the “Mixa Animation Diary ‘Minami-ke’ 20th Anniversary Tanabata Festival” in July 2024. A subsequent event in November 2025 revealed the “Korekara” subtitle.

The franchise follows the everyday lives of three sisters — Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki Minami — who rely on one another as they navigate ordinary life together.
