OceanVeil began streaming the English dub of Kamui: He’s Behind You on Friday at 9:30 a.m. PDT (12:30 p.m. EDT). The anime originally premiered on Tokyo MX on July 3 at 25:30 (effectively July 4 at 1:30 a.m. JST) and is also set to air on BS11 on July 7.
Story
Shizuka Mimizuka is a self-proclaimed “ordinary” high school girl with one extraordinary problem: her body acts as an irresistible magnet for ghosts and malevolent spirits. Recognizing both her supernatural allure and her lightning-fast running skills, the famous psychic Kamui — overwhelmingly powerful and impossibly handsome — hires her as his official assistant and live bait. There’s a catch, though: Kamui harbors a bizarre secret in that he is only aroused by ghosts and apparitions. His methods of spiritual purification are wholly unprecedented, wildly intimate, and undeniably lewd. Can Shizuka ever live the normal school life she dreams of while being swept up in one paranormal incident after another? The curtain rises on a “super” ecchi exorcism comedy!

Production & Background
The anime is directed by Takumi Tsukumo (original creator of Divergence Eve and Misaki Chronicles) at studios Zero-G and ZG-R. Motoshi Chūjō is handling series scripts, while Toshinari Yamashita (Amazing Nurse Nanako, Divergence Eve) serves as character designer. KOTOKO performs the ending theme song “SAY-BYE!!”
The anime is produced under WWWave Corporation‘s Deregula anime label. The original manga by Eroki and Konoshiro launched on Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in March 2020, with the 13th compiled volume published on August 10.
