Toei Animation has announced a new anime film based on Leiji Matsumoto’s Galaxy Express 999, with veteran director Rintarō — who helmed the original 1979 film — crafting the new story.

A cinema concert screening of Sayonara Galaxy Express 999: Andromeda Terminal Station, featuring a live orchestra conducted by Tokikin Osamu and vocalist Okonogi Mari performing “SAYONARA,” is confirmed for June 21, 2026 at Aichi Prefectural Art Theater’s main hall in Nagoya.
